Welcome all beginners! We honor your curiosity and desire to learn what yoga is about. You don't need flexibility or strength to study yoga, just an open mind and a readiness to learn something new.

With the goal of providing you a solid informational and experiential foundation of yoga in a welcoming environment, we offer special time and attention just for you!

Yoga Basics

This 4 week introductory course is designed to help you explore the fundamentals of yoga. You will create a foundation based upon breathing techniques, primary yoga postures and universal principles of alignment. Individual attention and hands-on adjustments will give the necessary tools and confidence to progress to our on-going classes. People of every fitness level, from the tri-athlete to the sedentary individual can participate. Each student is accepted and encouraged exactly as they are. The physical, mental, emotional and health benefits of yoga are unparalleled by any other type of Western exercise. Learn ‘the basics' in a non-intimidating, fun and relaxed atmosphere.

If the Yoga Basics course doesn't fit into your schedule, our All level or 1-2 level classes may be joined at anytime. Just drop-in and inform the instructor you are attending class for the first time.

In any beginner class, take it easy and allow yourself the immense freedom of being a beginner. Since yoga aims to regenerate health & peace in the body and mind, competitive goal setting—which may be useful in the rest of our lives—is counter-productive here. Don't give thought to about how your body looks—in yoga, it's more about how you feel. Plus, you are in a room full of friends who are here for the same reason as you. So, aim on practicing with breath awareness, and compassion toward yourself and those around you. You will find that your body will become stronger, more supple, healthier and more radiant.
